Howdy! I’m Kate Bresnahan (Brezzy for short)

Product Designer

Having been an artist my entire life, when I was introduced to UX design as a concept I was surprised that creative processes could also be applied to something as technical as software development. But the longer I’ve worked in the field the more I’ve come to understand how critical an addition design thinking is to the development process.

Over the last seven years I’ve helped develop dozens of enterprise software products that have gone to market and been adopted by hundreds of users worldwide. Thinking outside the box and remaining adaptable to ever-shifting industries are my specialties.

My Work

  • Administration

Compiling an entire complicated administrative experience into one central location

  • Artificial Intelligence

A dive into the challenges and perks of AI-centric design via an intuitive automated document sorting experience

  • Government Compliance

Aligning the experience to government regulations for a simpler workflow

  • Integrations

Bridging the user interface gap; designing for two companies at once

Values

Be a Team Player

There is nothing more important to me than supporting both my design team and my product teams to the best of my ability. Open communication, curiosity, and strong collaboration all take top billing in my process.

Creative Design Thinking

My background as an artist has trained me in creative problem solving, taking feedback well, and rapid iteration. Taking a creative approach to designing enterprise software has allowed me to remain flexible in my work and see problems from multiple angles.

Add Business Value

As I’ve gained experience in my field I’ve come to understand the importance of adding business value with the products and features I design. Is this experience valuable to our users? Does this product have a market? Anchoring my design choices in business value helps with finding the right solution.

Accessibility is Non-Negotiable

I will always strive to lionize accessibility in everything I design. Accessibility is mandatory for a strong user experience, not a “nice to have.” As Don Norman says, meeting the needs of those with disabilities ultimately helps everyone.

Efficiency

My design and research processes have evolved significantly throughout my career. I’ve developed efficient work strategies for handing off solutions to my development teams quickly and effectively while retaining integrity.

Strive for Excellence

As much as I want to quickly deliver solutions to my product teams, I will always push for the requirements and designs that I believe strongly in. I back up my arguments with hard data to advocate effectively for my users.

Testimonials

  • "If you get a chance to work with Kate- jump at it!"

Throughout Kate's time at nCino I had the pleasure of working with her on projects directly as well as indirectly as part of our larger team. We saw each other through rough times and celebratory times. If you get a chance to work with Kate- jump at it! You will get a designer who is interested in solving the right problem and making sure you're solving the problem right- all the while having no shortage of opinions. In a world where decisions are called "interesting" or "maybe i would have done X instead" Kate can express herself in a way that contributes to the group even if it is not the popular opinion. I left every call with Kate saying "You're a rockstar" and I still believe it.

  • "She’s made foundational contributions to our design system and product"

I had the opportunity to manage Kate Bresnahan during her time as a product designer at nCino, and I was consistently impressed by her growth, adaptability, and dedication to creating meaningful user experiences. Over time, I watched Kate deepen her understanding of the product and take greater ownership of the design process—especially in how she partnered with product managers, even through team transitions and shifting priorities.

Kate made a significant impact across a wide range of initiatives—from redesigning key areas like Feature Pages and the Admin experience to improving our integration work with RDC and Participate. Her ability to balance thoughtful UX with practical implementation helped push several complex projects over the finish line. She also brought strong visual and illustration skills to the table, leading efforts to refresh our illustration library in a way that elevated both brand and product consistency.

What I appreciate most about Kate is her willingness to engage with complexity—whether it’s aligning multiple stakeholders, navigating unclear problem spaces, or adapting to new tools and processes. She’s made foundational contributions to our design system and product, and I’m excited to see the continued impact she’ll have wherever she goes next.
